Week 9 Primer: A Road Block Halloween Weekend

 With six undefeated top-ten teams playing on the road, ESPN is promoting this weekend of college football as “Road Block Saturday.”  Clever?  Not exactly.  Accurate?  You bet.  The conference road game has indeed long been the road block for would-be national championship contenders, but this season has already seen more than its share of top teams fall away from home before we’re even to November.  Alabama, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.  Three straight weeks, three straight number one teams taken down by good but not great teams.  And none of these games were decided because of a fluky bad call or freak play.  All three number ones  had their butts handed to them in games decided by more than a possession.
