With an 8-0 season thus far, the Shepherd Rams have exceeded eventheir own expectations for the season.
"Our players set a goal to 'Take back the WVIAC' and they made it
come true."
Coach Monte Cater, Head coach for the Rams, reminisced abouta conversation with his players from last winter. After several
seasons marred with injuries that hurt them in the past. This season
has been marked with hard work on all parts of the team.
With more experience and consistency in the overall team, the Rams
were able to remain an undefeated team until November. Which can be
agreed by the whole team is a great feeling. This season is a
contributing effort by a dynamic offense. A defense that try's to
takes every advantage that is given them, which has led them to a
league best of +17 turnover margin. And a special teams that has
proven themsleves over and over again.
"Add all these together and you have a great mix," Coach Cater commented about his team.
With the end of the season in sight and playoffs in sight, the Rams
are staying with their method that has help lead them to an undefeated
so far.
"Taking it one Saturday at a time, we don't worry about rankings oranything else," Cater commented.
With their ranking in the WVIAC andranking number 12 in Division II, the Rams standing is looking in
their favor.
"Anytime you can win a championship for your seniors. It is a great
achievement." Cater said.
The goal that the Shepherd Rams set for themselves has been met andthey look to exceed it..
The Shepherd Rams have one more game of the regular season against Glenville
State on Saturday, November 13th at Rams Stadium.
